AC/DC’s Flick of the Switch, released in 1983, marked their ninth studio album and the third with Brian Johnson on vocals. It followed the band’s mega-selling successes Back in Black and For Those About to Rock, leaving Flick of the Switch with a reputation as a commercial disappointment. Despite this, the album delivered a solid dose of the band’s signature hard rock sound. Angus Young’s electrifying riffs and Johnson’s raspy vocals drive the record, evident in the title track’s electrifying power. The album also featured Phil Rudd on drums for the last time before his return over a decade later. While it may not have reached the same stratospheric heights as its predecessors, Flick of the Switch remains a potent reminder of AC/DC’s raw energy and unwavering commitment to pure rock and roll.
