Mahavishnu Orchestra – Birds of Fire VG+/VG+

Birds of Fire is the second and final studio album by the legendary jazz fusion band Mahavishnu Orchestra, led by guitarist John McLaughlin. The album was released on January 3, 1973 by Columbia Records and features ten tracks composed by McLaughlin, including the title track, which is considered a fusion classic. The album showcases the band’s virtuosic and eclectic style, blending elements of jazz, rock, Indian, and classical music. The album also features guest appearances from keyboardist Jan Hammer, violinist Jerry Goodman, bassist Rick Laird, and drummer Billy Cobham. The album was dedicated to Miles Davis, McLaughlin’s former mentor and collaborator.
