Mi-Sex ‎– Graffiti Crimes VG+/VG

$16.00 Inc. GST

Mi-Sex’s debut album, Graffiti Crimes, arrived on the scene in July 1979, bringing a wave of New Zealand new wave with it. The album itself climbed the charts, reaching number six in New Zealand and hitting number 16 in Australia, even achieving gold certification in their home country.

Graffiti Crimes wasn’t just commercially successful, it was a genre-defining record. Tracks like the opening title track explored themes of rebellion and leaving a mark, while others like “21-20” showcased the band’s knack for catchy melodies. The album also wasn’t afraid to incorporate diverse influences, with “Camera Kazi” clocking in at over five minutes and offering a more progressive sound. While the international release included their smash hit “Computer Games,” the original Graffiti Crimes captured the essence of Mi-Sex’s sound: a blend of youthful energy, new wave experimentation, and undeniable hooks.
