Allah-Las ‎– LAHS

“Lahs,” the fourth studio album by the Los Angeles-based band Allah-Las, was released on October 11, 2019. This album marks a distinct evolution in the band’s sound, showcasing a more mature, explorative, and globally influenced direction compared to their previous works, which were deeply rooted in the Californian ’60s surf rock and garage rock traditions.

The band members — Matthew Correia (percussion), Spencer Dunham (bass), Miles Michaud (vocals, guitar), and Pedrum Siadatian (lead guitar) — infused “Lahs” with a variety of international influences, reflecting their extensive touring experiences and a broadening musical palette. The album’s title itself, a play on the band’s name, hints at this shift towards a more diverse and worldly sound.

Musically, “Lahs” drifts away slightly from the band’s characteristic jangly, surf-inspired sound, moving towards a more laid-back, psychedelic pop.
