Chvrches – The Bones Of What You Believe (10 Year Anniversary Edition – Clear Vinyl))

The Bones of What You Believe is the debut studio album by Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches, released on September 20, 2013. Written, composed, and produced by the band, the album was recorded between 2011 and 2013 in Glasgow. It blends synth-pop, indie pop, electropop, and dance-pop, drawing strong influences from 1980s electronic music. The album’s title comes from a lyric in the song Strong Hand, reflecting the raw creativity and effort that shaped its sound.

The album features seven singles, including The Mother We Share, Recover, Gun, Lies, and Tether. The Mother We Share became a moderate commercial success, charting in the top 10 in Belgium and Japan and reaching the top 40 in the UK. Critically acclaimed, the album was praised for Lauren Mayberry’s songwriting and vocal performance, as well as Iain Cook and Martin Doherty’s use of synthesizers and vocal loops. It debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and reached the top 15 in Australia, Ireland, and the US. In 2023, a 10-year anniversary edition was released, featuring additional tracks and live recordings.
