$37.95 Inc. GST

One of the most influential blues artists of all time, John Lee Hooker, released his album That’s My Story in May 1960 on Riverside Records. The album was the result of a single session on February 9, 1960 at Reeves Sound Studio in New York City, with Orrin Keepnews as the producer. The album features Hooker’s unique Delta blues guitar and vocals, backed by the jazz rhythm section of bassist Sam Jones and drummer Louis Hayes from Cannonball Adderley’s group. The album captures Hooker’s raw and authentic sound, which had a major impact on the “folk boom” in the United States at that time. The album received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, and is regarded as one of Hooker’s best works. The album consists of 12 tracks, all composed by Hooker except for the opening track, which is a version of “Money (That’s What I Want)” by Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford, with additional lyrics by Hooker.
