Pet Shop Boys ‎– Please VG/VG

$20.00 Inc. GST

Please is the debut studio album by Pet Shop Boys, released on 24 March 1986 by Parlophone Records. The album blends synth-pop, dance-pop, and disco, reflecting the duo’s early influences, including Italian disco and American hip-hop.

The album features four hit singles: West End Girls, Love Comes Quickly, Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money), and Suburbia. West End Girls became a No. 1 hit, propelling the duo to international fame. Lyrically, the songs explore themes of urban life, ambition, and relationships, with Neil Tennant’s satirical and observational storytelling.

The album was a commercial success, establishing Pet Shop Boys as one of the defining acts of the 1980s synth-pop movement. It was later reissued in 2001 with bonus material as part of the Further Listening series. The title Please was chosen so that fans could walk into a record store and say, “Can I have the Pet Shop Boys album, please?”.
