Sault – 5

Sault’s 5, released on May 5, 2019, is the enigmatic British collective’s debut album—and it landed like a quiet revolution. Rooted in funk, soul, and Afrobeat, the record blends politically charged themes with hypnotic grooves and minimalist production. Produced by Inflo and released on the independent label Forever Living Originals, 5 introduced listeners to Sault’s signature sound: raw, rhythmic, and fiercely independent.

Tracks like “Foot on Necks” and “Don’t Waste My Time” pulse with urgency, while “Masterpiece” and “Let Me Go” showcase emotional depth and sonic restraint. Critics praised the album for its genre-defying style and mysterious aura—Sault rarely gives interviews or performs live, letting the music speak entirely for itself.
