The Sugarcubes ‎– Life’s Too Good

Life’s Too Good is the debut studio album by Icelandic alternative rock band The Sugarcubes, released on April 25, 1988. The album was an unexpected success, bringing international attention to the band—especially to lead singer Björk, who would later launch a highly successful solo career.

The Sugarcubes blended post-punk and pop influences with a quirky, surreal sense of humor, reflected in both their lyrics and the album’s title. The record features standout tracks like “Birthday”, which became a cult hit, and “Deus”, showcasing Björk’s distinctive vocal style.

Despite their initial reluctance to be taken seriously, the band’s growing popularity led to an international tour and two more studio albums. Life’s Too Good remains a landmark release in Icelandic music history, marking the beginning of Björk’s rise to global fame.
