XTC – Skylarking

Skylarking is the ninth studio album by the English rock band XTC, released on 27 October 1986. It is a loose concept album about a nonspecific cycle, such as a day, a year, the seasons, or a life. The album was produced by American musician Todd Rundgren, who also contributed to the sound design and drum programming1. Skylarking is widely regarded as XTC’s finest work and one of the best albums of the 1980’s. It features the hit single “Dear God”, which caused controversy in the US for its criticism of religion.
