Homogenic is the third studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk. It was released on 20 September 1997 by One Little Indian Records The album is a fusion of electronic beats and string instruments, creating a sound that is both futuristic and organic. Björk described Homogenic as a tribute to her native country Iceland, which she called “the most beautiful place in the world”.

The album features 10 tracks, including the singles “Jóga”, “Bachelorette”, “Hunter”, “Alarm Call”, and “All Is Full of Love”. The songs explore themes such as love, nature, identity, and independence. Björk collaborated with producers Mark Bell, Guy Sigsworth, Howie B, and Markus Dravs, as well as the Icelandic String Octet. The album cover was designed by Alexander McQueen and features Björk wearing a dress made of bells and a geisha-inspired hairstyle.

Homogenic received critical acclaim upon its release and is considered by many critics to be one of the best albums of all time. It was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 1998 and won the Shortlist Music Prize in 2001. The album has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide as of 2004. Homogenic is a landmark in Björk’s career and a masterpiece of experimental music.
