John Prine ‎– John Prine (Orange Marble Vinyl)

John Prine (1971) is a remarkably assured debut, blending folk, country, and wry storytelling with disarming emotional clarity. Prine writes about everyday people—lonely veterans, weary lovers, small‑town dreamers—with humor, compassion, and sharp observational detail. Songs like “Angel from Montgomery” and “Sam Stone” reveal his gift for turning simple language into lasting poetry. The album established him as a singular voice whose warmth and honesty resonated far beyond the folk scene.
