Sherbet– Photoplay VG+/VG+

Photoplay, released in 1977, pushes Sherbet fully into sleek, late‑70s pop‑rock, built on bright keyboard lines, tight rhythm arrangements, and a clean, radio‑friendly mix. The hooks are immediate—“High Rollin’” and “Magazine Madonna” set the tone with polished choruses and smooth vocal layering—while the deeper cuts lean on soft rock textures, gentle grooves, and carefully stacked harmonies. The production is glossy but controlled, emphasising melody over grit, and the album captures the band at a point where their songwriting, studio craft, and commercial instincts were fully aligned.
