Double Vision is the second studio album by the British-American rock band Foreigner, released on June 20, 1978. Building on the success of their self-titled debut album, “Double Vision” saw the band further refining their distinctive blend of rock, pop, and rhythm and blues elements, cementing their status as one of the prominent acts of the late 1970s rock scene.

The album was produced by Keith Olsen, who was known for his work with Fleetwood Mac on their eponymous 1975 album. “Double Vision” features a collection of songs that showcase the band’s talent for crafting melodic rock anthems and power ballads. The title track, “Double Vision,” became one of their best-known songs, featuring an infectious chorus and memorable guitar riffs. Other notable tracks include the hit “Hot Blooded,” which exemplifies the band’s hard rock edge and became a staple on classic rock radio, and “Blue Morning, Blue Day,” which further demonstrates the band’s knack for catchy, mainstream rock tunes.

The musicianship of the band members played a significant role in the album’s success. Lou Gramm’s distinctive vocals, combined with Mick Jones’ guitar work and songwriting, created a sound that was both accessible and musically rich. The rhythm section, featuring bassist Rick Wills and drummer Dennis Elliott, provided a solid foundation for the album’s diverse tracks.

“Double Vision” was both a critical and commercial success, receiving positive reviews from music critics and reaching #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It ultimately went on to be certified Multi-Platinum in the United States, solidifying Foreigner’s position as one of the era’s most popular rock bands.
