Mercy, Mercy, Mercy! is a live jazz album by the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, released in 1967. It was recorded at “The Club”, a nightclub in San Francisco, California, on October 20, 1966. The album is considered to be one of the most important and influential hard bop albums of all time.

The album features a mix of originals by Cannonball Adderley, Nat Adderley, and Joe Zawinul, as well as covers of standards such as “Sack O’ Woe” and “Fun”. The title track, written by Zawinul, is a soulful ballad that became a major hit single.

The album is notable for its innovative and exciting sound, which incorporated elements of soul, funk, and rock into the traditional hard bop idiom. The band’s performance is also top-notch, with Cannonball Adderley delivering some of his best playing on record.
