Mind Games is the fourth studio album by English musician John Lennon. It was released on October 29, 1973 in the United States and on November 16, 1973 in the United Kingdom on Apple Records. It was Lennon’s first self-produced recording without help from Phil Spector.

The album was recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York City in the summer of 1973, during a time of personal and professional turmoil for Lennon. He was facing difficulties with US immigration and was at the beginning of an 18-month separation from his wife, Yoko Ono.

Musically, Mind Games is a more eclectic album than Lennon’s previous releases, incorporating elements of rock, pop, funk, and soul. The title track is a catchy, upbeat rocker with a positive message about the power of love and unity. Other highlights include the soulful ballad “Aisumasen (I’m Sorry),” the funk-inspired “Bring on the Lucie (Freeda Peeple),” and the country-tinged “Nutopian International Anthem.

The album received mixed reviews upon release, but it has since come to be regarded as one of Lennon’s most underrated works. It features some of his most introspective and personal songwriting,
