The Clash ‎– Sandinista! VG+/VG (3LP)

Sandinista! is The Clash’s sprawling fourth album, released in December 1980 as a triple LP with 36 tracks.

It embodies their genre-defying ambition, blending punk, reggae, dub, jazz, gospel, rockabilly, folk, calypso, disco, and rap. The title nods to the Nicaraguan Sandinistas, and the band took a pay cut to ensure the album was sold at a lower price. A few of the standout tracks are ‘Police on My Back’, ‘Hitsville UK’ with Ellen Foley on vocals, and ‘The Magnificent Seven’ with its funky bass line.

Though its length divided critics, Sandinista! became an influential record, winning the Pazz & Jop critics poll and earning a place on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest albums.
