Vektor – Terminal Redux

Terminal Redux is the third studio album by the American thrash metal band Vektor, released on May 6, 2016 by Earache Records. The album is a concept album, which tells a sci-fi story about an astronaut finding the key to immortality and using it to gain vast political and financial power, but eventually experiencing an existential crisis as a result. The album features a complex and progressive blend of musical genres, such as technical thrash metal, progressive metal, jazz fusion, and ambient, creating a futuristic and epic musical journey.

The album contains some of the band’s most ambitious and experimental tracks, such as “Charging the Void”, a nine-minute opener that sets the tone and introduces the story, “Pteropticon”, a fast and aggressive song that showcases the band’s technical skills, and “Recharging the Void”, a thirteen-minute closer that concludes the story with a grand finale.
