Wobbler – From Silence to Somewhere

Wobbler’s From Silence to Somewhere, released in 2017, is a triumphant homage to classic progressive rock, steeped in vintage textures and sprawling compositions. The album unfolds like a symphonic journey, with just four tracks spanning nearly 47 minutes, each one a meticulously crafted tapestry of Mellotron swells, Moog flourishes, and intricate guitar work. It channels the spirit of ’70s giants like Yes, Gentle Giant, and King Crimson, but with a distinctly Norwegian twist—melancholic, introspective, and richly layered.

The title track alone stretches over 20 minutes, shifting through moods and motifs with cinematic flair. “Rendered in Shades of Green” offers a brief, pastoral interlude, while “Fermented Hours” dives into darker, more frenetic territory, punctuated by spoken word and baroque flourishes. “Foxlight” closes the album with a dreamlike blend of acoustic passages, flute, and soaring harmonies, culminating in a majestic finale that feels both ancient and timeless.

Thematically, the album explores metamorphosis and alchemical transformation, echoing the mystical tone of its predecessor Rites at Dawn but with a deeper, more shadowed resonance.
