Thriller is the sixth studio album by the American singer and songwriter Michael Jackson, released on November 29, 1982 by Epic Records. It is one of the most successful and influential albums of all time, as it revolutionized the music video genre, broke racial barriers, and set new standards for pop music. The album was produced by Quincy Jones, who collaborated with Jackson on his previous album Off the Wall. Jackson wanted to create an album where “every song was a killer” and explored a variety of genres, such as pop, post-disco, rock, funk, and R&B. The album features nine tracks, seven of which were co-written by Jackson.
