Steve Lacy – Gemini Rights

Gemini Rights is the second studio album by American musician Steve Lacy, released on July 15, 2022 by RCA Records. The album is a fusion of R&B, funk, psychedelia, and other genres, showcasing Lacy’s versatility and creativity as a singer, songwriter, and producer. The album features guest appearances from Fousheé and Matt Martians, Lacy’s bandmate from The Internet. Gemini Rights received critical acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album in 2023. The album spawned three singles: “Mercury”, “Bad Habit”, and “Sunshine”. “Bad Habit” became Lacy’s first song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gemini Rights is an album about Lacy’s personal journey of self-discovery and love after a breakup with an ex-boyfriend. Lacy said that he wanted the album to be concise and fun, and that he hoped it would make people feel more unconditional love for one another.
