The Brecker Brothers’ album Heavy Metal Be-Bop was released in September 1978. This album is a live recording of the band’s performance at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, New York, with the exception of the studio track “East River”. The album features a fusion of jazz, funk, and rock music, and includes tracks such as “Inside Out”, “Some Skunk Funk”, and “Funky Sea, Funky Dew”. The album also features the use of electronically altered saxophone and trumpet sounds by Michael and Randy Brecker.
